12 ounces Contessa large Uncooked Tail-On Shrimp, thawed
1/4 cup flour
3/4 cup stale beer
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
peanut oil for deep frying
Prepare the batter by mixing the beer, flour, egg, sugar, salt and pepper.
Using a deep fryer heat oil to 375º F. and dip the shrimp into the batter and fry until golden brown.
Drain on paper towels.
