2008 Cook like a Pirate Recipe Contest Winner |
Kali Kardas
Congratulations go out to, Kali Kardas, our "Cook like a Pirate Recipe Contest" winner! Kali wowed our panel of judges with her delicious recipe. Drunken Pirate Shrimp with Treasure Salsa was the perfect fit for our pirate-themed contest — from its beautiful presentation to its kick of flavor. Kali used special ingredients like coconut rum, pineapple juice, red pepper flakes for some spice and of course Contessa Shrimp, we couldn't have asked for a more flavorful creative recipe.
A former U.S. Navy Sailor, Kali now spends most of her time cooking for her fiancé. She attributes her love for food and cooking to winning her special man's heart. Kali enjoys Contessa's frozen shrimp because it cooks in minutes and is so versatile. Whether it's grilled, sautéed, fried or roasted, it always tastes great! Kali says, "There are few things more satisfying than the look on someone's face when they tell you how delicious your creation is."
