2004 Convenience Meal Recipe Contest Winner |

The married mother of four, Joni Hilton is used to cooking for plenty of people. When her children invited a couple of friends over for dinner one night unannounced, however, the 47-year-old had her hands full.
But thanks to Contessa's Chicken Alfredo Convenience Meal and a little ingenuity, those full hands turned into full stomachs for her company. Hilton, who cooks with Contessa products at least once each week, decided to create her own recipe from the package. And Chicken Vegetable Chowder, which won Contessa's Convenience Meal Contest, was born.
Hilton beat out thousands of other entrants with her winning recipe, earning her $1,000 in cash, Contessa products and merchandising.
"When those two extra guests dropped in and I had only one package of the Contessa Chicken Alfredo, I knew I had to stretch it somehow," said Hilton, a television spokesperson for various corporations. "Making it into a soup was the perfect solution. The wonderful chunks of chicken and veggies give it that homemade look and taste."
Hilton is no amateur when it comes to putting her cooking creations to the test. The Rocklin, Calif. resident said she has won numerous other contests, ranging from baking to dinner meal competitions. But as a loyal Contessa customer for years, this one really rings close to home.
"Contessa is so easy and fast, and with everybody's busy lifestyle, you look for products that make cooking quicker and easier," she said. "That's what I love about Contessa. It's easy to stretch and really easy to prepare even if you're surprised by some extra people."
